Our Roasters
Jamie H:
My name is Jamie Hilliard, and I volunteer with Living Recovery Roasters. As someone in recovery, I value the opportunity to give back, learn new skills, and be part of a supportive community. I enjoy meeting new people and contributing to a project that has a positive impact on others.
1. What’s your LRR roast of choice? And how do you brew your coffee?
My current favourite roast is the Ethiopian – I love its character and flavour. That said, I’m also very partial to the Colombian Decaf, as it means I can enjoy a proper coffee at any time of day without worrying about the caffeine. I currently brew my coffee using a cafetière, although my kids tell me they’ve got me a filter machine for Father’s Day, so I’m looking forward to giving that a try!
2. What’s your favourite thing about working at LRR?
My favourite thing about working at LRR is the people. Everyone is welcoming and supportive, and it’s great to be part of a team that encourages personal growth and recovery.
3. What does LRR mean to you?
LRR means connection, purpose, and opportunity. It has given me a place where I can continue to grow in my recovery, build confidence, and be part of something positive that helps others.
